Step One:
Inside the TextbookHub portal, select Loyola Student Assignment from the left-side navigation panel.
The Loyola Student Assignment page loads. It looks similar to this:
Step Two:
Click on the Manage Students hyperlink.
Step Three:
The Student Assignment page opens. It looks similar to this:
Locate the Section Name field on this page. Type a unique name for this class section. Then click the Save button.
Step Four:
NOTE: Use STEP FOUR if you have just a few students. If you have many students, skip ahead to STEP FIVE.
First, use the pulldown window located at “1” in the image below to find your name.
Second, enter a student’s name (2).
Third, enter the student’s school email address (3).
Fourth, click the Add button (4).
The TextbookHub portal will take a moment to process the data you have entered.
When the portal has accepted the student, the student’s name will populate in the student list:
Repeat this process for every student who needs access to this book.
Step Five
Use this step if you have too many students to add manually
If you have more than just a few students in your class, you may find that using the bulk add students option is more convenient than the process outlined above.
Bulk student upload involves uploading a CSV file from your computer to the TextbookHub portal. Don't worry, TextbookHub can give you a template for this file! It looks similar to this:
When the CSV file is ready, you should click on the Select a File button.
A file selection dialogue box pops up. Click on the correct CSV file to upload it into the portal. Then click the Open button.
As in the image below, the title of the CSV file should populate in the file-add box. Click on Upload.
Note that if the list of students is long, it may take the portal a moment or two to absorb all the names and email addresses.
You will know the bulk add was successful because the TBH portal will display a blue banner near the top of your screen that advises the upload task has been scheduled.
When the upload is complete, students will receive a welcome email notifying them that they now have access to the TextbookHub portal. The email includes log-on credentials and detailed step-by-step instructions on how to access their worktexts.
