Welcome to TextbookHub! We’re glad you’re here!
If you work at a school with a BJUP affiliation AND your school has an SIS integration with TextbookHub (BJUP + SIS), these instructions are for you.
If you are not certain how your school is classified, please read READ ME FIRST: Different Types of Schools.
This set of ‘how-to’ steps shows how to match courses to textbooks, and then assign and distribute the books to the people that need them.
Steps:
STEP ONE:
Navigate to the log on page. It should look something like this:
Enter the email address and temporary password, then click the Log In button.
You will have already received an email from TextbookHub that gives you some of your log on details, including:
- the correct URL to use
- A log-on email address
In addition, you will have received a separate email from BJUP Support with your password.
STEP TWO
Select School Book Assignments from the left-side navigation panel. After you select School Book Assignments, the Book Assignments page loads.
Note that the navigation panel you see on your screen will be similar but not identical to the navigation panel in the image below. That’s because TextbookHub is continuously improving our product. Do not worry if your left-side navigation panel is slightly different from the one in the image above.
STEP THREE
Click the +Assign to button (1). Then select “course” (or “section”, if there are multiple sections of the same course being offered at your school) from the drop down menu (2).
STEP FOUR
The Assign School Books page loads. First, pull down the Book menu and select the book you want to assign (1). Next, pull down the Course menu and select the correct course (2).
STEP FIVE
Check that the correct book and course show in the Book and Course fields. When you are satisfied, click the Save button.
STEP SIX
The portal will display a success message in the upper right corner of the screen. The book-course association should appear in the list as indicated in the image below.
STEP SEVEN
Continue to match books to courses until all textbooks have been assigned to a course. When there are no more books to assign to courses, move on to Step Eight.
STEP EIGHT
Click on the Distribute All button.
STEP NINE
Check to make sure that the distribution was successful by looking for the success message in the upper right corner of the screen:
Congratulations! You have completed assigning and distributing books using the TextbookHub portal!
IMPORTANT: For the books to work as intended, they must be both ASSIGNED AND DISTRIBUTED. Do not skip any of these steps.
When books have been assigned but not distributed, people will have problems accessing their books.
This is the most common pitfall in the process.
