Thank you for ordering BJUP worktexts on the TextbookHub platform. We're glad you're here! Let's have a look at the set up workflow for teachers.
*******
PLEASE NOTE: Some schools might prefer that an administrator carry out these steps rather than a teacher. To do that, an administrator will need to access every teachers log on credentials.
PLEASE NOTE: These steps describe part of the set up process for self-onboarded schools. If you work at a school of another kind (e.g. a full service school or a BJUP + SIS school) this information does not apply to you. Full service schools should contact their dedicated Account Manger for help with any problems. BJUP + SIS schools follow a different set of instructions, available here.
*******
After BJUP sends your order to TextbookHub, TextbookHub must process and upload the book files. When all the books have been loaded into the portal, your School Administrator will enter your details into the TextbookHub portal.
Once your details are in the portal, the portal will automatically send you an email. This email contains all the details you need to be able to log into the TextbookHub portal and get started. That includes:
- the correct URL to use
- A log-on email address
Your password is the first part of your email address (everything before the @ sign). For example, the password for teacher123@school.com is teacher123.
Note that the email from TextbookHub will also have a pdf document attached to it with step-by-step instructions on how to get set up.
STEPS
STEP ONE
Navigate to the log on page. Enter your school email address and the password, then click the Log In button.
STEP TWO
Inside the TextbookHub portal, you will land on the BJUP Student Assignment page. It looks similar to this:
Click on the Manage Students hyperlink.
STEP THREE- Use STEP THREE if you have just a few students. If you have many students, skip ahead to STEP FIVE.
The Add Students panel slides open. First, use the pulldown window located at “1” in the image above to find your name.
Second, enter a student’s name (2).
Third, enter the student’s school email address (3).
Fourth, click the Add button (4).
The TextbookHub portal will take a moment to process the data you have entered.
STEP FOUR -
When the portal has accepted the student, the student’s name will populate in the student list:
Repeat this process for every student who needs access to this book.
When all your students have been entered into the TextbookHub portal, click on the Save button. It will take the portal a moment to process the additions.
STEP FIVE- Use this step if you have too many students to add manually
If you have more than just a few students in your class, you may find that using the bulk add students option is more convenient than the process outlined above.
Bulk student upload involves uploading a CSV file from your computer to the TextbookHub portal. Don't worry, TextbookHub can give you a template for this file! It looks similar to this:
STEP SIX
When the CSV file is ready, you should click on the Bulk Add Students button.
STEP SEVEN
A dialog box pops up. Click on Select a file.
STEP EIGHT
File selection pop-up appears. You should select the correct CSV file to upload it into the portal. Then click the Open button.
STEP NINE
As in the image below, the title of the CSV file should populate in the file-add box. Click on Perform.
Note that if the list of students is long, it may take the portal a moment or two to absorb all the names and email addresses.
STEP TEN
You will know the bulk add was successful because the student names and school email addresses will be listed on the page. When you are satisfied with the upload, you should click on the Save button.
When students have been added to the portal, they will receive a welcome email notifying them that they now have access to the TextbookHub portal. The email includes log-on credentials and detailed step-by-step instructions on how to access their BJUP worktexts.
